COMMUNITY PHILANTHROPY FOCUS

The Foundation supports primary and secondary educational programs in the areas of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). We also fund educational programs at major Arts and Cultural institutions in San Diego County. Please note that the ResMed Foundation does not fund free tickets or admissions, preferring to fund specific programs with specific recognition, even if the recognition is shared with others.

For examples of organizations that have been funded, please refer to Grant Recipients.

EXCLUSIONS AND RESTRICTIONS

The ResMed Foundation is restricted from funding:

  • Organizations without IRS not-for-profit status
  • Organizations to which donations are not tax-deductible
  • Individuals
  • Political contributions
  • Regular and ongoing operating support
  • Contingencies, deficits or debt reduction
  • Loans

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

Donor recipients must be located in San Diego County and be a qualified tax- exempt organization under section 501 (c) 3 of the US Internal Revenue Service. Proof of not-for-profit status is required.

Grants will be given to organizations that demonstrate that they have competent management who have a history of delivering results in an effective and cost efficient manner. In addition, the Foundation only supports organizations that have a proven track record of excellence and sustainability.

Grants will be awarded with a clear expectation of measurable results and outcomes.

Upon completion of the project the submission of a report to the Foundation detailing how the Foundation was acknowledged, how funds were spent, definitive outcomes and achievements are required of all grant recipients. Possible future funding will be contingent on the Foundation's timely receipt of this report.
